The Philippines holds the world’s longest Christmas celebration and it’s only fitting that popular coffee shop chains such as Starbucks and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, among others, have special concoctions to complement the Pinoy’s unique way of upholding the Blessed Season.
When you think about it, it’s like Christmas in a cup; but, in my case, since I only consume frappes, it’s more authentic to say, Christmas in a giant plastic cup with a slot. 🙂
Christmas Cookie Frappe. (Tall: 170; Grande: Php 180; Venti: Php 190)
Loved for its creamy, buttery taste infused with shortbread and butter cookie bits and sauce, this particular Starbucks Holiday coffee-based blend, ranks first in my list of faves.
Starbucks Peppermint Mocha. (Tall: 170; Grande: Php 180; Venti: Php 190)
A significant drizzle of mocha sauce provides an interesting twist from last year’s well-received peppermint concoction.
Starbucks Toffee Nut Frappe. (Tall: 170; Grande: Php 180; Venti: Php 190)
Starbucks Peppermint Frappe.
Starbucks Gingerbread Frappe.
Starbucks’ 2013-2014 Holiday Menu included Gingerbread Frappe and Gingerbread Latte; but, unfortunately, these variants are not available here in the Philippines as they are only being offered in Starbucks’ satellite branches in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and Ireland.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
CBTL Red Velvet Ice Blended. (Ice Blended: Regular: Php 165; Large: Php 185. Hot Cocoa: Php 120; Php 135; Php 150).
Known for their sweet ‘n’ creamy taste quite reminiscent of a red velvet cupcake, Red Velvet Beverages (Ice Blended or Coffee-based and Hot Chocolate) are CBTL’s best bets for Christmas.

To this day, Food for the Gods remains to be a must-eat confection during the holiday season. Dolcelatte, a popular cafe and gourmet bakeshop here in the metro, continues to offer these chewy, nutty, and fruity creations sans the liqueur so that even kids can fully enjoy them.
Dolcelatte has reinvented Chef Ansel Dominique’s popular croissant-doughnut pastry by offering a plethora of sweet and savory croughnuts both for dine-in or on the go. Liked for their flaky or crunchy nature, Dolcelatte is supposedly being credited to have the most number of croughnut varieties in the metro.
In Dolcelatte’s case, you need to order and reserve the SWEET CROUGHNUTS (not the SAVORY VARIANTS) over the phone. To preorder, call 332-3407 or 0906-5526297.
- One box contains 6 croughnuts.
- Since there are limited quantities of croughnuts produced daily, a customer can only order/reserve up to a dozen croughnuts.
- Preorder croughnuts one day in advance.
- Reservation is done via phone only.
- No Sunday pick-up.
